PINE CONE JINGLE BELL WIND CHIMES    EASY PINE CONE WREATH      VICTORIAN DOOR DECORATION

PINE CONE CHRISTMAS WIND CHIMES

PINECONE JINGLE-BELL WINDCHIMES

These are so easy to make and they look great! All you need is 3 pine cones, Shiny gold spray paint, green ribbon, 20 gauge jewelry wire, 3 Bells and plastic or silk holly leaves.

STEPS:

  1. FIRST, SPRAY THE 3 PINE CONES GOLD AND LET DRY.
  2. NEXT, ATTACH THE THREE TOGETHER WITH THE 20 GAUGE GOLDTONE WIRE NEAR THE TOP. YOU CAN ALSO PUT CRAFT GLUE IN THE CENTER.
  3. FORM A LOOP AT THE TOP AND BOTTOM WITH THE WIRE
  4. THREAD THE BELLS ON 3 PIECES OF GREEN RIBBON AT DESIRED LENGTH AND TIE TO SECURE ON ONE END. USE SCISSORS TO TRIM THE KNOT NEAR THE BELLS.
  5. TIE THE RIBBON PIECES ONTO THE PINE CONES AT THE BOTTOM LOOP. IT IS BEST TO TIE THEM IN A "CASCADING" ORDER
  6. CUT SEVERAL SMALL PIECES OF THE HOLLY LEAVES AND USE CRAFT GLUE TO ATTACH THEM TOWARD THE TOP OF THE PINE CONES CONCEALING THE WIRE WHERE POSSIBLE.
  7. YOU CAN EITHER TIE A LOOP OF RIBBON ON THE TOP WIRE LOOP TO HANG OR SIMPLY USE THE LOOP CREATED WITH THE WIRE.
  8. DISPLAY YOUR "JINGLE BELLS" EITHER OUTSIDE OR INSIDE FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY!

EASY DOOR WREATH

GREAT DOOR WREATH!

MATERIALS:
16 - 18 PINE CONES
1 CAN SHINY GOLD SPRAY PAINT
1 MEDIUM-WEIGHT WIRE CLOTHES HANGER
20 GAUGE JEWELRY OR CRAFT WIRE
FLAT NOSE PLIERS/SNIPS
SILK OR PLASTIC HOLLY PLANT
RIBBON IN CHOICE OF COLOR FOR BOW
CRAFT GLUE

STEPS:

  1. FIRST, USE THE PLIER/SNIPS TO SNIP OFF THE CURVED END OF THE WIRE HANGER.
  2. NEXT, FORM A CIRCULAR SHAPE WITH THE HANGER AND TWIST WITH PLIERS TO SECURE THE CIRCLE AT ENDS. THIS WILL BE THE BASE OF YOUR WREATH. YOU CAN ALSO USE A PRE-FORMED METAL WREATH BASE AVAILABLE IN THE FLORAL DEPARTMENT.
  3. SPRAY THE PINE CONES WITH GOLD PAINT AND LET DRY.
  4. USE THE 20 GAUGE WIRE TO ATTACH THE PINE CONES TO THE BASE IN AN "ANGLED" DIRECTION ALL THE WAY AROUND THE HANGER BASE. HIDE THE WIRE THROUGH THE CENTER OF THE PINE CONE WHEN ATTACHING. YOU MAY ALSO WANT TO USE THE EXCESS WIRE TO ATTACH THE PINE CONES TO EACH OTHER ON THE BACK SIDE FOR EXTRA SUPPORT.
  5. ONCE THE PINE CONE PORTION OF THE WREATH IS FORMED, USE THE CRAFT GLUE TO ATTACH PIECES OF THE HOLLY FLOWERS BETWEEN EACH PINE CONE AND ALLOW GLUE TO DRY. USE THE LEAVES TO HIDE ANY WIRE THAT IS SHOWING.
  6. WHILE THE GLUE IS DRYING, TAKE YOUR RIBBON (YOU CAN USE A PRE-MADE BOW ALSO) AND FORM AN OVAL "LOOP" ABOUT 6 INCHES LONG AND PINCH IN CENTER. CONTINUE IN THIS FASHION LOOPING BACK AND FORTH WHILE PINCHING EACH CENTER UNTIL YOU HAVE ENOUGH LOOPS TO FORM A FULL BOW. USE THE WIRE TO SECURE THE CENTER AND "PULL" THE LOOPS ON EACH END APART TO FORM A BOW. TRIM THE END PIECES. CUT TWO 4 TO 5 INCH "TAILS" FOR THE BOW AND GLUE TO THE BACK OF THE BOW PORTION.
  7. USE THE EXCESS WIRE THAT YOU SECURED THE BOW WITH TO ATTACH TO DESIRED PLACE ON THE WREATH.
  8. FINALLY, FORM AND SECURE A "HANGING LOOP" AT THE TOP BACK PORTION OF THE WREATH IN ORDER TO HANG IT WITH. THESE LOOK WONDERFUL ON DARK COLORED DOORS OR ABOVE A FIREPLACE! ENJOY!

VICTORIAN DOOR/WALL DECORATION

VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS!

MATERIALS:

  1. 1 WIRE CLOTHES HANGER (MED THICKNESS)
  2. 1 YARD GREEN OR PATTERN CHRISTMAS FABRIC
  3. 1 YARD CRIMSON CHIFFON FABRIC
  4. 1 - 6 X 6 INCH CRIMSON-COLOR CRAFT FELT
  5. 1 YARD ANTIQUE LACE DESIGN
  6. 10 FLAT-BACK BEADS (WE USED AUSTRIAN CRYSTALS)
  7. VARIOUS GOLD-TONE VICTORIAN CHARMS
  8. FLAT-NOSE PLIERS
  9. FABRIC/CRAFT GLUE
  10. ONE CRAFT PIPE CLEANER (OPTIONAL)

STEPS:

  1. FIRST, USE THE PLIERS TO CLIP OFF THE TWISTED HANGER PORTION ON THE CLOTHES HANGER.
  2. THEN, USE YOUR PLIERS TO FORM THE REMAINING PART OF THE HANGER INTO A STRAGHT PIECE TO WORK WITH. YOU CAN THEN START IN THE MIDDLE AND BEGIN FORMING YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE PATTERN BENDING WITH YOUR PLIERS. TRY TO KEEP BOTH SIDES EVEN WHEN FORMING THE LIMB/TRIANGLE PORTIONS.
  3. ONCE THE TREE BASE IS FORMED, YOU CAN EITHER USE THE PIPE CLEANER TO FORM THE TRUNK AT THE BOTTOM BY TWISTING EACH END AROUND EACH OPEN END OF THE TREE BASE AND THEN LOOPING AND BENDING EACH OPEN END OF THE HANGER BACK ONTO ITSELF TO SECURE THE PIPE CLEANER ENDS.
  4. NOW, PLACE THE BASE OVER YOUR FABRIC AND CUT OUT LEAVING ENOUGH TO WRAP AROUND AND GLUE BEHIND THE WIRE HANGER BASE.
  5. YOU CAN ALSO CUT THE SAME PATTERN OUT ON THE FELT, THIS WILL BE USED TO COVER UP YOUR BACK PORTION.
  6. WORKING IN SECTIONS, PLACE THE FABRIC ON THE WIRE BASE TURNING AND GLUING THE ENTIRE OUTLINE. GLUE ON THE WIRE AND ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE FABRIC TRIMMING OFF ANY EXCESS FABRIC.
  7. ONCE YOU HAVE YOUR COVERED CHRISTMAS TREE, GLUE THE FELT TO THE BACK FOR A FINISHED LOOK.
  8. NOW YOU CAN DECORATE THE FRONT BY GLUING CRYSTALS, BEADS, CHARMS OR ANY DECORATION!
  9. WE USED THE CRIMSON CHIFFON TO CREATE A BOW AT THE TOP AND AROUND THE BASE. WE THEN USED THE ANTIQUE LACE TO CREATE A HANGING LOOP AND ON THE TRUNK PORTION AS WELL. **NOTE** WE TACKED THE LACE ON THE HANGING PORTION WITH A NEEDLE AND THREAD ONCE ON EACH SIDE FOR SUPPORT!
  10. FINALLY, DISPLAY ON A WALL, DOOR, TREE OR WINDOW AND ENJOY! THE FABRIC CHOSEN REALLY MAKES THE DIFFERENCE HERE; RICH FABRICS AND LACES GIVE A WONDERFUL VICTORIAN FEEL. WE KNOW THE PICTURE CAN'T SHOW THE DEPTH OF FABRIC AND COLOR CHOICE BUT TRUST ME, THEY ARE WONDERFUL. YOU CAN ALSO ADD TWO CLOTHES HANGERS TOGETHER FOR A LARGER HANGING OR MAKE THEM SMALLER TO USE AS ORNAMENTS! CREATIVITY IS THE KEY! ENJOY!
